A Brief Trust Talk

Recently at the Lamparaan Fest 2016, one point was emphasized; a topic which surely captured the minds of everyone- TRUST.
What is Trust anyway? We always have this thought of trusting someone even without knowing what trust really means. “TRUST, big word!” this is a statement that made a huge mark on the society and I haven’t really thought about it until now. Trust, based on dictionaries is a belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest and effective.
Other than that, trust is something more…
Trust is a vague word actually. So instead, let me put it this way…
Trust is when you give not just a thought, but essential things to other people and hoping that they’d take care of it. Trust is when you think about nothing else, nothing suspicious, no doubt at all because you think that everything that comes out of you is secured once you gave trust. It means being free to express yourself to someone without thinking about what he or she is thinking because again you think that everything that comes out of you is secured. When you give something precious- a diamond for example- and not worry about it because you are certain that the person you whom you gave it to, will take care of it and would never let it break… that is what we call trust.
More than diamonds or other riches, I bet trust is the most precious and valuable among all… because trust takes a long time to build but only a snap of fingers to be destroyed. This is why we have to really take good care of it and share it wisely. Give it to someone who will take care of it as much as you do. Give it to someone who truly deserves it. Because once it is broken, it could never be restored to its perfect and original shape. It may be replaced by a new one but it would never ever be exactly the same.
